Analysis: This is about the worst possible way for Petty to close out his second season and could set him back as he attempts to compete for the starting job in 2017.
|Dec. 24, 2016 11:11 AM PT12:11 PM MT1:11 PM CT2:11 PM ET19:11 GMT3:11 AM 北京时间12:11 PM MST2:11 PM EST1:11 PM CT23:11 UAE14:11 ETNaN: - Petty, off to a dreadful 0 of 3 start with an interception, injured his left shoulder diving to the ground to try to recover a Khiry Robinson fumble against the Patriots.
Analysis: Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Petty and word came just after halftime that Petty would not return.
|Dec. 20, 2016 1:39 PM PT2:39 PM MT3:39 PM CT4:39 PM ET21:39 GMT5:39 AM 北京时间2:39 PM MST4:39 PM EST3:39 PM CT1:39 UAE (+1)16:39 ETNaN: - Petty says his bruised chest is feeling better and he expects to play Saturday at New England.
Analysis: Petty was injured last Saturday night when he was sandwiched by Miami's Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh while completing a 28-yard pass to Robby Anderson on the first play of the fourth quarter of New York's 34-13 loss. X-rays at the stadium were negative, as was a CT scan Monday. After watching film of the play, Petty says Tuesday that he was surprised he wasn't injured worse because of the impact.
|Dec. 18, 2016 10:21 AM PT11:21 AM MT12:21 PM CT1:21 PM ET18:21 GMT2:21 AM 北京时间11:21 AM MST1:21 PM EST12:21 PM CT22:21 UAE13:21 ETNaN: - Jets coach Todd Bowles told ESPN Radio in New York City on Monday that Petty was officially diagnosed with a bruised chest and that all other tests administered Sunday came back negative. Petty made an early exit from Saturday's 34-13 loss to the Dolphins after he was sandwiched between Miami's Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh on the first play of the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Bowles said he wanted to see how Petty feels Tuesday before determining a starter for Saturday's game against the New England Patriots, but it's a good guess that Petty's audition will continue as long as he experiences no setbacks.
|Dec. 17, 2016 8:56 PM PT9:56 PM MT10:56 PM CT11:56 PM ET4:56 GMT12:56 AM 北京时间9:56 PM MST11:56 PM EST10:56 PM CT8:56 UAE23:56 ETNaN: - Petty was 20 of 36 for 235 yards and threw one touchdown pass Saturday in the New York Jets' 34-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He threw two interceptions, fumbled once and was sacked three times.
Analysis: Petty left on the first play of the fourth quarter after he was squashed by Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake and injured his chest. It's uncertain if he will miss any time in the final two weeks. X-rays at the stadium were negative, but Petty is scheduled to have a CT scan on Sunday to make sure he doesn't have a bruised or punctured lung.
|Dec. 11, 2016 4:09 PM PT5:09 PM MT6:09 PM CT7:09 PM ET0:09 GMT8:09 AM 北京时间5:09 PM MST7:09 PM EST6:09 PM CT4:09 UAE (+1)19:09 ETNaN: - Bryce Petty was 23 of 35 for 257 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the New York Jets' 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked six times. Petty added 19 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: The second-year quarterback did make some plays while rallying the Jets in his second career start, though the lowly 49ers aren't exactly the best measuring stick. Petty should only be used in an emergency capacity for fantasy purposes next week against Miami.
|Dec. 5, 2016 8:09 PM PT9:09 PM MT10:09 PM CT11:09 PM ET4:09 GMT12:09 AM 北京时间9:09 PM MST11:09 PM EST10:09 PM CT8:09 UAE23:09 ETNaN: - Petty was 11 of 25 for 135 yards and threw one touchdown pass Monday in the New York Jets' 41-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He threw two interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked one time.
Analysis: After replacing the benched Ryan Fitzpatrick, Petty could be in charge of the Jets offense the rest of the season. New York is 3-9 and has nothing to lose.
|Nov. 14, 2016 12:38 PM PT1:38 PM MT2:38 PM CT3:38 PM ET20:38 GMT4:38 AM 北京时间1:38 PM MST3:38 PM EST2:38 PM CT0:38 UAE (+1)15:38 ETNaN: - Jets coach Todd Bowles told reporters he will wait until after the team's bye week to decide who will start at quarterback for its Nov. 27 game against New England.
Analysis: Petty had a chance to make his case when filling in for an injured Ryan Fitzpatrick in Sunday's game against the Rams, but the second-year pro was unimpressive while making his first NFL start in New York's 9-6 loss. Regardless of who Bowles chooses, neither will be a recommended fantasy start against the Pats.
|Nov. 13, 2016 7:29 AM PT8:29 AM MT9:29 AM CT10:29 AM ET15:29 GMT11:29 PM 北京时间8:29 AM MST10:29 AM EST9:29 AM CT19:29 UAE10:29 ETNaN: - Petty will make his first NFL start when the Jets host Los Angeles on Sunday.
Analysis: The second-year quarterback gets the nod with Ryan Fitzpatrick dealing with a sprained left knee. Petty has thrown only two passes in an NFL game, both coming after Fitzpatrick briefly exited last week's loss at Miami with his injury, so it's hard to say what impact he'll have on the offense.
|Nov. 13, 2016 5:54 PM PT6:54 PM MT7:54 PM CT8:54 PM ET1:54 GMT9:54 AM 北京时间6:54 PM MST8:54 PM EST7:54 PM CT5:54 UAE (+1)20:54 ETNaN: - Bryce Petty was 19 of 32 for 163 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the New York Jets' 9-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time.
Analysis: After a solid first few drives, Petty and the Jets couldn't get much going in Sunday's loss. He threw a loss-sealing interception and misfired on a long pass on third-and-14 from the Rams 32 that could've been an easy touchdown in the closing minute of the first half. With a bye next week, the Jets could go back to Ryan Fitzpatrick on Nov. 27 against the Patriots if he's healthy.
|Sep. 2, 2016 12:03 PM PT1:03 PM MT2:03 PM CT3:03 PM ET19:03 GMT3:03 AM 北京时间12:03 PM MST2:03 PM EST2:03 PM CT23:03 UAE15:03 ET18:03 - Petty has a bruised right shoulder, and coach Todd Bowles says an MRI exam revealed no structural damage. During a conference call Friday, Bowles says it is too early to determine whether the second-year quarterback will be placed on injured reserve.
Analysis: The coach adds, however, that Petty will not be put on IR before the team makes its final cuts to get down to the maximum 53 players by 4 p.m. EDT Saturday.
|Sep. 1, 2016 6:13 PM PT7:13 PM MT8:13 PM CT9:13 PM ET1:13 GMT9:13 AM 北京时间6:13 PM MST8:13 PM EST8:13 PM CT5:13 UAE (+1)21:13 ET0:13 - Petty threw a 44-yard touchdown pass before injuring his shoulder in the Jets' preseason finale Thursday. Petty tossed a perfect strike down the right sideline, but the second-year pro took a hard shot on the play and left with a shoulder injury. Petty didn't return even though the Jets said he was probable to come back.
Analysis: Petty's injury could solve New York's quarterback dilemma. Geno Smith is expected to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick for the second straight season. Rookie Christian Hackenberg is a second-round pick, so his spot should be secure. The Jets are considering keeping all four quarterbacks on the roster, but Petty could end up on injured reserve.
